Iowa state Sen. Sandy Salmon endorses Jim Carlin for U.S. Senate, calls for conservative change to unseat establishment

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Jim Carlin, the conservative Republican candidate running for U.S. Senate in Iowa, announced on Friday the endorsement of Iowa state Sen. Sandy Salmon, R-District 29, marking the first in an anticipated series of endorsements from principled conservatives as he aims to take the seat currently held by incumbent Sen. Joni Ernst.

Salmon, a military veteran, family farm owner and former chair of the Iowa House Veterans Affairs Committee, praised Carlin’s record as a freedom fighter and Constitutional conservative. In her endorsement, she highlighted his leadership on key issues.

“Jim Carlin is an outstanding choice for the new leader we need for the new challenges America faces. An Army veteran and plaintiff’s attorney, he is a freedom fighter, a people protector, a problem-solver and a corruption destroyer,” Salmon said.

Salmon also commended Carlin’s fights against human trafficking, vaccine mandates and indoctrination in schools.

“He led the fight in the Iowa Senate for the protection of children in our schools against the indoctrination and promotion of sexual orientation and gender identity confusion. Sen. Carlin would not have voted for the “Dis”-Respect for Marriage Act, which strengthened LGBT confusion as Sen. Ernst did,” Salmon added.

“I am deeply honored to receive Senator Salmon’s endorsement,” said Carlin. “As a fellow veteran and steadfast conservative, Sandy has been a tireless advocate for Iowa values, from protecting life and liberties to supporting our veterans. Together, we will fight government overreach, secure our borders, and put America First.”
